Friends of Bertram Chain of Lakes Regional Park

The purpose of the Friends of Bertram is to provide grassroots support for efforts to conserve Bertram Chain of Lakes Regional Park in Wright County as an irreplaceable natural and community resource for current and future generations.

The Bertram Chain of Lakes is 1,200 acres of land and water west of current city limits of Monticello.  The property includes three undeveloped lakes, 245 acres of mixed vegetation and wetlands, and 140 acres of active agricultural fields.   

The City of Monticello and Wright County have currently purchased nearly 1/3 of the 1,200 acres and are working to purchase the entire property to prevent it being sold to private development.
