Judge Clarence Magney: In 1954, Judge Clarence Magney (pictured on right) joined 15 other Minnesotans in creating the dynamic organization that is now the Parks & Trails Council of Minnesota.
Late in 2004, the Parks & Trails Council launched a new program named in honor of its 1954 founder Judge Clarence Magney (on right in photo, shown with his son). Judge Magney was a true champion for Minnesota parks. Now all parks and trails members can step up in support of parks and trails in the tradition of Judge Magney by making an annual contribution of $500 or more. Magney Circle contributions are used for ongoing operations of the Parks & Trails Council. Currently, there are 82 Magney Circle members. Special events for Magney Circle members are held annually.
