Behind every successful park or trail effort you will find a Trail Builder, an individual that shepherded the dream into reality, giving time, money or both in pursuit of the goal. The following is a Q & A feature on a dynamic Trail Builder Duo -- Mark and Joan Strobel. Thanks in large part to their vision and persistence, our North Shore parks and trails are national treasures!

Friends groups play an important role in planning, developing, maintaining and advocating for Minnesota's parks and trails. Meet Sugarloaf: the North Shore Stewardship Association, a group that works to promote the preservation and restoration of the North Shore's unique environment, including the wonderful chain of state parks on the shore.

(BRAINERD, MN) - Parks and trails supporters from throughout the state will descend upon Cragun's Resort and Hotel on Gull Lake near Brainerd on March 3-4 to attend the Parks & Trails Council of Minnesota's Parks and Trails for Future Generations conference.

(February 2, 2006) - Trail advocates from Bemidji to Rochester converged on the State Capitol today to encourage their legislators to invest in the state's prized system of interconnected recreational trails.
