Once he got on a bicycle, David Minge was hooked. It's not that he was into racing, or that he had all the fanciest bicycles and equipment. He just loved the feel of getting himself from place to place on his own two wheels. "As long as I can remember, I've enjoyed bicycling," he says.

If F. Scott Fitzgerald was observing the scene in Minnesota today, chances are good he'd tell stories about the flood of people emerging from their winter hibernation into the fragrant warm season as walkers, runners, hikers, birders, gardeners, cyclists and many more activities. As spring molts into summer, we have so many choices to enjoy the outdoors and nature. I hope all of you, dear readers, have plans to enjoy our outdoor splendors to the fullest over the coming months. You can do it in "relaxed form" or in "adventure mode" - but do it!

Minnesota’s parks and trails provide countless opportunities for recreating and exploring. The Minnesota Orienteering Club has combined the two activities in ways that makes the outdoors fun for people of all backgrounds and skill levels. We recently asked Verónica Jaralambides to tell us more about her club and orienteering.
