Major improvements completed on Root River Trail

A long-awaited overlay of new asphalt is the major component of maintenance work on the Root River Trail this summer between Fountain and Lanesboro.

In addition to new surface, the trail also is being widened from eight feet to10 feet. The new surfaced trail is finished between Fountain and the Old Barn Resort access road.

Trail enthusiasts will not have to wait long to enjoy the new trail surface. Work was scheduled to be completed by July 30.
