Details

This event will be an interactive group conversation based on the presentation by Dr. Bill Green in the webinar hosted by the St. Croix Valley Foundation on January 20, 2021. Please plan to attend that event or watch the recording in preparation for this discussion group (find that event‘s details below).

  • WEBINAR TOPIC (Jan. 20): “Historical Perspective: What Happened in this Region to Create the Disparities that Black Americans Continue to Experience Today?”
  • FEATURING : Bill Green, Ph.D., J.D., Professor, Augsburg University

Dr. Bill Green will be providing a discussion guide as a followup to his presentation, so that will be the basis for our discussion. Friends group leaders are invited to join this discussion group to reflect upon Dr. Green’s presentation and discuss how it relates to friends groups and parks and trails.

Background

“A reckoning on race relations” is how many in the media have characterized the events and responses that we’ve all experienced or witnessed in 2020. Conversations of the Valley by the St. Croix Valley Foundation aims to take what can sometimes seem like far off voices in the national media — and bring some of those voices a little closer to home.
