Give to the Max Day a Success

We want to send a big thank you to the roughly 180 people who donated to Parks & Trails Council of Minnesota on Give to the Max Day. We made our matching challenge of $16,000 and then people kept giving. By the end of the day, supporters donated a total of $35,500 including the match. This year we also received one of the coveted $500 golden tickets from the GiveMN organization, which brought our grand total to $36,000. That’s a new record!

This is always such an exciting day to see people taking action minute by minute to raise the bar on our goal thermometer until it’s made. Thank you again to everyone who made this day a success in raising funds to achieve our mission of acquiring, protecting and enhancing critical land for the public’s use and benefit.

This has been a busy year with saving land for two state parks–one at Frontenac State Park and the other at Sibley State Park–that total roughly 175 acres. Together, we are providing a critical link to getting this work done. We also confronted the threat of activists working to allow all-terrain vehicles into state parks. These are special places that deserve special protections and we are remaining vigilant to this threat with your help.

Together we will continue to protect Minnesota’s parks and trails and keep them the special places they are.
