NSTT Announces 2020 Events

From NorthStar Trail Travelers

If you like walking just for the fun of it, you should check out the events sponsored by the NorthStar Trail Travelers (NSTT) in Minnesota’s great state parks! NSTT works in partnership with Minnesota State Parks and Trails to offer three to ten walking events in various state parks every year. The group sponsors a snowshoe/walk event in February, several walking events throughout the warm months and finishes the year off with a guided group walk the end of October. All events are non-competitive where you can walk at your own speed to enjoy the parks in your own way. All trails are marked with arrows and ribbons and have been chosen after physically pre-walking to make sure the trails are scenic or historic and safe for participants to enjoy.

Every event offers a lunch for a suggested donation, either brats cooked over the fire or sloppy joes, along with chips, drinks, dessert and fruit. Once each year we hold a hobo soup supper after an event where everyone brings something to throw into the pot as well as side dish to share. It’s a great opportunity to visit with other folks who love to walk in the state parks.

Our events are family oriented and everyone is welcome to participate. You do not need to be a member of NSTT to enjoy our events. Registration fees are $2 for just participating; $3 if you carry an IVV Achievement Record Book; or $8 if you want to get an event award. Each award is unique to the park we’re visiting, and is hand made and hand painted by a local artist.

We welcome you to join us in 2020 for these events:
