Anne Flueckiger lives in Duluth and is a guide for Adventures in Good Company, which offers adventure travel trips for women in the U.S. and internationally. She grew up in southwestern Ohio, spent summers with her family near Grand Marais, and moved to Minnesota in 1995 following a two-year stint working in Russia. Anne recently served as president of the board of the Duluth Cross Country Ski Club, where her responsibilities included program planning and evaluation, volunteer management, grant writing, and publicity. She also served on the City of Duluth Trails Advisory Group from 2010-2012. Between guiding trips, Anne volunteers with several local and regional organizations and seeks out opportunities to use her creative and critical thinking skills. Anne received her B.A. in Russian Civilization and M.A. in Social Sciences from The University of Chicago in 1992 and later studied international education policy at the University of Minnesota. Her favorite outdoor activities include backpacking, trail running, biking, canoeing, and cross-country skiing.
