Testifying for Trail Maintenance at Minnesota Capitol

We are grateful to have had the opportunity to testify at the Minnesota Senate Capital Investment Committee this week. Andrew Oftedal, P&TC’s research and policy manager, presented our State of the Trails Report, which categorized the condition of every mile of trail. Our analysis shows that if the state invested $4.8 million annually in trail maintenance, our statewide system could be properly maintained.

Investing in trail maintenance helps us all connect with nature, get healthy with movement, and it fuels economic development for small towns across our state.

It has been a busy year at the Minnesota State Capitol. Parks & Trails Council staff and consultants have regularly met with legislators to educate them on all our top priorities for parks and trails.
