Park Rx is a program that includes a health or social service provider who encourages their patients/clients to spend time in nature with the goal of improving their health and wellbeing. Sara Holger and the Friends of Whitewater State Park have worked hard to establish Park Rx programming in the SE Minnesota region, a place with a long tradition of pioneering cutting-edge medical practices. They will share how their work got started, provide takeaways on the program to date, and share ideas for how friends groups can get involved at their own parks and trails.
