Minnesota Recreation & Park Foundation (MRPF)

New Initiative Grants

Overview

This program intends to spur innovation in park and recreation services at a local, regional, or statewide level—especially innovation that could ultimately have a statewide impact.

Application & Review Process

Deadline: November 3, 2023

Applicants should submit a narrative with the sections determined by MRPF. Applications are evaluated on their innovative approach, community need and support, feasibility of the program being replicated by other agencies, how the program will be assessed, and the project’s overall budget.

Funding Amount

Up to $4,000

Grants must be matched by resources, supplies, or funds. Grant expenses must be incurred and will be reimbursed. Grants are funded by charitable contributions to MRPF.

Eligibility

Projects

New programs or services that demonstrate innovation in parks and recreation services and could be replicated by other agencies. Ineligible projects include capital improvements, existing programs, and personnel.

Applicants

Government agencies or 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations are eligible. Applicant or sponsoring agency must be a member of MRPF ($25/year).
