Frontenac to celebrate National Get Outdoors Day on June 9

From Frontenac State Park Association

Volunteers from Frontenac State Park Association are partnering with park staff to celebrate National Get Outdoors Day on Saturday, June 9 from 1 – 3 pm. The park will offer guided nature walks, information about the park’s bluebird nesting trails, plus board games, puzzles, and art work for children of all ages. Join in the fun. It is free and open to all. Light refreshments will be served at the park’s main picnic shelter.

In addition to the festivities, the Association will be planting a Sugar Maple tree in memory of former board member Ed Schneider, who passed away last year. Ed was an active volunteer with the Association for 20 years, including managing the park’s bluebird nesting program for the past 15 years. Ed worked for IBM as an engineer until he retired. He was an avid sportsman, a park advocate, a bluebird lover, and a great all around guy. Join us for the tree planting!
