Restoring wood edge habitat

$5,000 grant

$550 local cash match

113 volunteer hours

Friends of Nerstrand Big Woods State Park carved out 0.5 acres of wooded edge/prairie habitat to establish a stronger and more resilient array of native plants. In their words, “Specific, visible accomplishments like these make it easier to engage new volunteers and raise funds for improvements.”
