Proposed Project Overview

For improvements to trail access facilities and storm water infrastructure.

The Cannon Valley Trail is a premier 20-mile trail in Goodhue County connecting Cannon Falls, Welch, and Red Wing. The trail offers a nature immersion experience close to Minnesota’s largest population centers, and attracts 100,000 visitors every year. This project includes two parts: (1) $1,586,450 for the comprehensive improvement of existing storm water infrastructure at ten locations plus the repair of slope failures at another five locations; and (2) $1,256,350 for improvements at four key access points along the trail. Improvements include vault toilets, modern restrooms, improved signage, and picnic shelters.
